The ’02-’03 Dallas Stars did what was expected of them and dispatched of the ’76-’77 Cleveland Barons in five games. The two standouts for the Stars offensively were veterans Mike Modano and Brenden Morrow. Modano led the way with six goals and six assists for 12 points, but Morrow put up good numbers with four goals and five assists for nine points. In net, Marty Turco was spectacular. Turco posted a 1.20 GAA and a .958 SV% with two shutouts.

I can’t really say that the Barons had any offensive standouts because they didn’t really score much. Both Dennis Maruk and Al MacAdam notched three points each, with Maruk posting two goals and one assist and MacAdam posting one goal and two assists. The best player for the Barons was their goaltender Gilles Meloche. He was barraged by the Stars, but posted a 3.60 GAA and a .930 SV%. Meloche totaled 50+ saves in a game three times and 60+ saves twice in this series.
