As expected, the ’06-’07 Anaheim Ducks advance to the 2nd Round with a sweep of the ’34-’35 St. Louis Eagles. Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere has always performed well in the postseason during his career, which ended just this past season, and did so in this series. He posted a 1.25 GAA and a .953 SV% in the four games, allowing just five goals. The Ducks helped Giggy out with a very balanced offensive attack. They had 20 players register a point in the four games with defenseman Chris Pronger leading the way with nine assists. Current Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf posted three goals and three assists for six points.
The ’34-’35 St. Louis Eagles also had a balanced attack with 11 out of their 19 players registering a point, but only four of those 11 had more than one point. Forwards Joe Lamb, Carl Voss, Syd Howe and Frank Jerwa all posted two points with all but Jerwa posting one goal and one assist. Jerwa tallied two assists. Goaltender Bill Beveridge saw a lot of shots in the four games and didn’t stop very many. He posted a 5.00 GAA and a .898 SV%.
