2nd Round Recap & Team Stat Leaders through Two Rounds

So, the 2nd Round is now complete and the field has been narrowed down to 16….so we are now in the Sweet Sixteen! In the 2nd Round, we saw the top 16 seeds make their tournament debut and among the top 16 seeds, six were eliminated. The #2-seeded ’61-’62 Toronto Maple Leafs were swept by the 34th-seeded ’10-’11 Nashville Predators. The 7th-seeded ’25-’26 Ottawa Senators were upset in seven games by the 39th-seeded ’78-’79 Atlanta Flames. The 10th-seeded ’12-’13 Pittsburgh Penguins were upset in a sweep by the ’79-’80 Buffalo Sabres. The 13th-seeded ’34-’35 Montreal Maroons lost in six games to the 20th-seeded ’02-’03 Dallas Stars. Lastly, the 15th-seeded ’73-’74 Philadelphia Flyers were upset in six games by the ’06-’07 Anaheim Ducks. We have eight remaining Stanley Cup winning teams.
