Preview of 2015 Hamilton Tigers Qualifying Tournament

To start, here is the seeding for the 2015 Hamilton Tigers Qualifying Tournament:

  1. ’24-’25 Hamilton Tigers (19-10-1, 39 points (1st), Lost in NHL Final)*
  2. ’23-’24 Hamilton Tigers (9-15-0, 18 points (4th), DNQ for Playoffs)
  3. ’21-’22 Hamilton Tigers (7-17-0, 14 points (4th), DNQ for Playoffs)
  4. ’20-’21 Hamilton Tigers (6-18-0, 12 points (4th), DNQ for Playoffs)

* – Listen to this shit. The Tigers were going to play in the Final against the winner between Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto St. Patricks, but there was a dispute over salary bonuses. So, every player on the Tigers was fined and suspended. Therefore, the SemiFinal between Montreal and Toronto became the Final.

The ’21-’22 Hamilton Tigers represented the extinct franchise in the inaugural Ultimate NHL Playoff as the #41 seed and were swept by the #24 seeded ’07-’08 Florida Panthers. The Tigers franchise spent five seasons as a member of the NHL.

Players to Watch:

  • F – Joe Malone – The Hall of Famer is on two teams in this tournament and was the team’s leading-scorer on both of them.
  • LW – Red Green – He is a member of two teams in this tournament and had a career year with the ’24-’25 Tigers as he set career highs in goals, assists and points.
  • G – Jake Forbes – The starting netminder for the top two seeds of this tournament, Forbes set career highs in wins (19) and goals against average (1.96) for the ’24-’25 Tigers.
