The top-seeded ’10-’11 Predators dominated the series from the start, but the scores didn’t always reflect that. Then, just over two minutes into overtime, Colin Wilson scored to give the ’10-’11 Predators a 3-2 win and a 1-0 series lead. The score did reflect the domination in Game 2. Defenseman Shea Weber netted a hat trick and winger Sergei Kostitsyn potted two goals and added an assist to lead the way to a 5-1 win for the ’10-’11 Predators. Game 3 was much more even. Martin Erat scored early in the third to give the ’10-’11 Predators a 3-2 lead. Then, six minutes later, Andreas Johansson scored for the ’03-’04 Predators, tying the game 3-3 and eventually forcing overtime. Shots were 45-42 in favor of the ’10-’11 Predators during regulation. he first overtime went scoreless with the ’10-’11 Predators leading in shots 14-12. Then, the ’10-’11 Predators dominated the second overtime by outshooting the ’03-’04 Predators 22-8, but couldn’t beat goaltender Tomas Vokoun. Finally, in the third overtime, defenseman Ryan Suter scored four plus minutes into the period to give the ’10-’11 Predators a 3-0 series lead. Vokoun stopped 83 of 87 shots against and Pekka Rinne stopped 60 of the 63 shots against for the ’10-’11 Predators. The ’10-’11 Predators tallied 24 shots on goal in the first of Game 4, with David Legwand and Steve Sullivan both potting a goal. The ’03-’04 Predators had the game tied up early in the third, but Mike Fisher broke the tie for the ’10-’11 Predators at the 8:42 mark of the third. That would be the final goal of the series as the ’10-’11 Predators complete the sweep.
