The ’10-’11 Vancouver Canucks were the 22nd seed in the inaugural Ultimate NHL Playoff. They swept the 43rd-seeded ’13-’14 Winnipeg Jets in the First Round and then took a 2-0 series lead in the Second Round over the 11th-seeded ’96-’97 New Jersey Devils. However, the Devils would win the next four games to eliminate the Canucks. Goaltender Roberto Luongo won the inaugural UNP Vezina Trophy as he led the tournament in goals against average (1.50) and save percentage (.950).
Players to Watch:
- F – Henrik Sedin/Daniel Sedin – They have been the focal point of the Vancouver Canucks’ offense for almost the past decade.
- C – Trevor Linden – If there was a Mr. Vancouver Canuck contest, I think it’s safe to say that this guy would probably win. He’s worn the Canucks jersey more times than anyone else and is also a Member of the Order of Canada!
- LW – Markus Naslund – If there was a Mr. Vancouver Canuck contest, I think it’s safe to say that this guy would probably win. He held the franchise record for points until both the Sedin’s broke it, however, Naslund has played in about 200 less games than both of the twins.
