Ryan Miller may not be a big fan favorite for his short stint as a Blue, but he did lead them to Semifinal Round here…….so theres that. (via blues.nhl.com)

The 8th-seeded ’13-’14 Blues won the series in seven games, but outscored the top-seeded ’68-’69 Blues just 16-14 in those seven games. In Game 1, the ’68-’69 Blues took a 2-1 lead thanks to a goal from Red Berenson and they held that lead until nearly halfway through the third period. Alex Steen tied the game for the ’13-’14 Blues before Gary Sabourin scored the eventual game-winner for the top seed with less than four minutes left. The ’13-’14 Blues then won 4-1 in Game 2 with three goals in the second period propelling them to the victory. Steen and T.J. Oshie were the only two players to post a multi-point game in the win. The ’13-’14 Blues then won Game 3 by a score of 2-1 with Chris Stewart scoring the game-winner halfway through the first period. Game 4 was tied late in the third period when defenseman Roman Polak for the ’13-’14 Blues was called for boarding. Camille Henry then scored the corresponding PP for the top seed and was the game-winner, which tied the series 2-2.

Behind two goals from Steen, the ’13-’14 Blues took a 3-2 series lead with a 4-2 win in Game 5. Steen also added an assist for a three-point night while David Backes and Oshie both totaled two points. With their backs now against the wall, the ’68-’69 Blues responded with a 4-1 win in Game 6. Berenson and Sabourin led the top seed in the win with three goals and a goal and three assists, respectively. In Game 7, Stewart started the scoring when he scored a little over four minutes into the second for the ’13-’14 Blues. Then, just past the seven minute mark of the third period, defenseman Jay Bouwmeester gave the ’13-’14 Blues a 2-0 lead. Sabourin scored in the final minute of regulation to give the top seed a very small glimmer of hope, but the top seed would lose 2-1 in Game 7 to the ’13-’14 Blues. What I did not mention up until now was the stellar goaltending in this series. Ryan Miller posted a 2.00 goals against average and a .943 save percentage for the ’13-’14 Blues while Glenn Hall posted a 2.29 goals against average and a .904 save percentage for the ’68-’69 Blues.
