In Game 2, the 8th-seeded ’05-’06 Stars took a 2-1 lead into the third period thanks to a second goal from Brenden Morrow. However, the ’02-’03 Stars rattled four goals in a row over a span of 10 minutes to take a 5-2 lead. The ’05-’06 Stars got one back late in the period, but the ’02-’03 Stars took a 2-0 series lead with a 5-3 win. If Game 3 of this series was a real game, it would be the fourth longest game in NHL history. It ended with a goal from Jason Arnott nine plus minutes into the FIFTH overtime to get the ’05-’06 Stars on the board in the series. The two teams combined for 169 shots and 102 of them were from the ’02-’03 Stars and they dominated in terms of shots on goals in the overtime periods where they outshot the ’05-’06 Stars 68-38, which means the ’02-’03 Stars had more shots on goal during the overtimes then the ’05-’06 Stars had in the ENTIRE game. The goaltender(s) were the stars of the game as Turco made 100 saves for the ’05-’06 Stars and 64 saves for the ’02-’03 Stars. This would be the ’05-’06 Stars’ only win in the series as the ’02-’03 Stars won Game’s 4 and 5 by scores of 4-2 and 5-3, respectively.
