It was Mr. Anaheim Duck, Teemu Selanne, who gave the top-seeded ’06-’07 Ducks a 4-3 lead early in the third period of Game 1, which was their first lead of the game. However, halfway through the period, Corey Perry netted his third of the game for the 5th-seeded ’13-’14 Ducks to tie the game and eventually force overtime. OT didn’t take long, though, as Chris Kunitz won it for the top seed just 12 seconds in. Game 2 would not come close to needing an OT as the ’06-’07 Ducks won easily, 5-1. Selanne led the way with a four-point night (2G, 2A) while both Andy McDonald and Dustin Penner registered a goal and an assist. Then, Game 3 was tied 1-1 after 10 and a half minutes of play and the next goal would not come until less than seven minutes left in regulation as a PP goal from Ryan Getzlaf gave the ’13-’14 Ducks a 2-1 win.

Getzlaf’s goal and two assists then led the ’13-’14 Ducks to a 4-2 win in Game 4, which tied the series up 2-2. Goalie Jonas Hiller was perfect in Game 5 for the ’13-’14 Ducks as he stopped all 39 shots against as the ’13-’14 Ducks won 2-0. The 5th-seed took their first lead in the series as both Perry and defenseman Hampus Lindholm tallied a goal and an assist. The ’06-’07 Ducks responded by beating Hiller five times in Game 6 as they forced a Game 7 with a 5-2 win. McDonald and defenseman Chris Pronger combined for seven assists in the win with them registering three and four assists, respectively. The top seed held a 2-1 lead heading into the third period of Game 7, but Nick Bonino scored for the ’13-’14 Ducks at the 9:19 mark to tie the game. Less than two minutes later, Pronger potted home a rebound to break the tie. Then, just three and a half minutes later, McDonald scored to put the nail in the coffin as the ’06-’07 Ducks clinched the series with a 4-2 win.
