Here is the bracket for the 2016 California Golden Seals Qualifying Tournament.

The ’75-’76 California Golden Seals represented the extinct franchise in the inaugural Ultimate NHL Playoff, but they will be back for a second time in the upcoming Third Annual UNP. As the top seed in the Qualifying Tournament, the ’75-’76 Golden Seals dropped just three games in three rounds. Game 1 of the Final against the ’72-’73 California Golden Seals was tied 2-2 after two periods. However, defenseman Mike Christie scored with four and a half minutes remaining and then Dennis Maruk potted an empty-netter to seal a 4-2 win for the eventual champions. Game 2 was the highest-scoring match of the series and required an overtime-winner from Wayne Merrick for the ’75-’76 Golden Seals. Both Christie and Dave Gardner finished with three total points in the win with Christie registering three assists. In Game 3, Christie tallied three assists, again, as the ’75-’76 Golden Seals won 5-3 while Al MacAdam scored twice. The ’72-’73 Golden Seals took Game 4 by a score of 7-5 as the two teams combined for seven goals in the third period alone. Walt McKechnie and Hilliard Graves both scored two goals and tallied an assist in the win for the ’72-’73 Golden Seals. The ’75-’76 Golden Seals finished off the ’72-’73 Golden Seals with an 8-5 win in Game 5. Christie, again, was the backbone of the ’75-’76 Golden Seals’ offense as he tallied five assists while both MacAdam and Maruk scored twice.
