2016 Atlanta Thrashers Qualifying Tournament

Here is a little description of each team in the tourney:

  1. ’05-’06 Atlanta Thrashers (41-33-8, 90 points (3rd in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  2. ’06-’07 Atlanta Thrashers (43-28-11, 97 points (1st in Southeast Division), Lost in Conference Quarterfinals)
  3. ’08-’09 Atlanta Thrashers (35-41-6, 76 points (4th in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  4. ’10-’11 Atlanta Thrashers (34-36-12, 80 points (4th in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  5. ’09-’10 Atlanta Thrashers (35-34-13, 83 points (2nd in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  6. ’10-’11 Atlanta Thrashers (34-36-12, 80 points (4th in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  7. ’02-’03 Atlanta Thrashers (31-39-7-5, 74 points (3rd in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)
  8. ’07-’08 Atlanta Thrashers (34-40-8, 76 points (4th in Southeast Division), DNQ for Playoffs)

The ’08-’09 Atlanta Thrashers made their Ultimate NHL Playoff debut in the Second Annual UNP. They wound up getting swept by the 28th-seeded ’09-’10 San Jose Sharks, but all four games were close. The ’08-’08 Thrashers never lost by more than two goals. In the inaugural UNP, it was the ’05-’06 Atlanta Thrashers that went up against the same ’09-’10 Sharks, but got eliminated in six games.

Players to Watch:

Those three, along with Dany Heatley, are by far the four best players to ever play for the Thrashers.
