Here is the bracket for the 2016 Columbus Blue Jackets Qualifying Tournament in its entirety.

It was the same matchup in the Final of the 2015 Columbus Blue Jackets Qualifying Tournament and it was the ’13-’14 Columbus Blue Jackets who won the series with a blowout in Game 7. The ’08-’09 Columbus Blue Jackets got revenge with an easy five-game series win here to clinch their first Ultimate NHL Playoff berth. The series started with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 1 thanks to an overtime winner from Kristian Huselius. Goaltender Steve Mason had a stellar series for the ’08-’09 Blue Jackets, averaging less than two goals allowed per game. He stopped 39 of 41 shots against as Rick Nash scored twice in the OT win.

The ’08-’09 Blue Jackets then trailed 1-0 in Game 2 after two periods, but they scored two unanswered goals in the third period to take a 2-0 series lead. Huselius scored the tying goal before Jason Williams scored the game-winner. R.J. Umberger stepped his game up in Game 3 with a hat trick and an assist to lead the ’08-’09 Blue Jackets to a 4-1 win. Mason stopped 39 of 40 while Nash tallied three points. The ’13-’14 Blue Jackets won their only game of the series in Game 4, a 4-2 decision. It was Sergei Bobrovsky‘s turn to shine as he stopped 46 of 48 shots against while Nick Foligno led offensively with three points. However, Mason, again, outplayed Bob in Game 5 as the ’08-’09 Blue Jackets finished the series off with a 3-1 win. Mason stopped 35 of 36 shots against while Nash and Jakub Voracek both registered multi-point games.
