The ’05-’06 Ottawa Senators have represented the second-coming of the Sens in both of the Ultimate NHL Playoffs and in both tournament they were able to make it out of the First Round before being eliminated in the Second Round. In the inaugural tournament, it was the 8th-seeded ’78-’79 New York Islanders while in the Second Annual tournament, it was the 7th-seeded ’71-’72 New York Rangers.

Players to Watch:

  • RW – Daniel Alfredsson – It’s Mr. Ottawa Senator, himself. Over 17 seasons with the franchise, Alfie posted 426 goals and 682 assists for 1,108 points in 1,178 games played. All are franchise records.
  • LW – Dany Heatley – #50in07. He posted back-to-back 50-goal seasons and that is a big reason why he if fifth in the franchises history in goals scored despite playing in only 317 games as a Senator.
  • C – Jason Spezza – The final piece of the “Pizza Line.” This trio got that nickname due to an arena promotion with a local pizza chain that gave the home crowd free slices of pizza during the ’05-’06 seasons when the team scored six or more goals in a game, which happened quite often with this line scoring almost at will.

The tournament results will be posted on the next weekday at 1 pm EST!
