The ’99-’00 St. Louis Blues were the 21st seed in the inaugural Ultimate NHL Playoff. They swept the 44th-seeded ’74-’75 Kansas City Scouts in the First Round and then took a 3-2 series lead in the Second Round over the 12th-seeded ’95-’96 Colorado Avalanche. However, the Blues would eventually lose Game 6 and then Game 7 to end their tournament. Then, in the Second Annual UNP, it was the ’69-’70 St. Louis Blues who represented the franchise, but were only able to match the ’99-’00 Blues’ performance by reaching the Second Round before being eliminated.
Players to Watch:
- D – Al MacInnis – We all remember him for having that booming slap shot from the point, but he was just one of some big shots for the Blues in the ’90s and early 2000s.
- D – Chris Pronger – Yeah, him and MacInnis on the same team. Yikes, look out goalies.
- RW – Brett Hull – He only makes one appearance in this tournament with the 7th-seeded ’94-’95 Blues, but how could I not include one of the greatest goalscorers of all-time.
The tournament results will be posted on the next weekday at 1 pm EST!
