Here is a little description of each team in the tourney:

  2. ’15-’16 Pittsburgh Penguins (48-26-8, 104 points (2nd in Metropolitan), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.50 SRS)
  3. ’90-’91 Pittsburgh Penguins (41-33-6, 88 points (1st in Patrick), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.42 SRS)
  4. ’08-’09 Pittsburgh Penguins (45-28-9, 99 points (2nd in Atlantic), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.28 SRS)
  5. ’92-’93 Pittsburgh Penguins (56-21-7, 119 points (1st in Patrick), Lost in Division Finals, 1.23 SRS)
  6. ’12-’13 Pittsburgh Penguins (36-12-0, 72 points (1st in Atlantic), Lost in Conference Final, 0.91 SRS)
  7. ’95-’96 Pittsburgh Penguins (49-29-4, 102 points (1st in Northeast), Lost in Conference Final, 0.90 SRS)

The Pittsburgh Penguins have not had a good record as a franchise in the Ultimate NHL Playoff as they are still looking for their first series win. They’ve had a First Round bye in both tournaments and then followed that up by getting eliminated in the Second Round. In the inaugural UNP, it was the ’12-’13 Penguins as the 10th seed and in the Second Annual UNP, it was the ’95-’96 Pittsburgh Penguins as the 11th seed.
