Here is a little description of each team in the tourney:

  1. ’51-’52 Detroit Red Wings (44-14-12, 100 points (1st in NHL), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.98 SRS)
  2. ’07-’08 Detroit Red Wings (54-21-7, 115 points (1st in Central), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.93 SRS)
  3. ’01-’02 Detroit Red Wings (51-17-10-4, 116 points (1st in Central), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.83 SRS)
  4. ’54-’55 Detroit Red Wings (42-17-11, 95 points (1st in NHL), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.83 SRS)
  5. ’49-’50 Detroit Red Wings (37-19-14, 88 points (1st in NHL), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.78 SRS)
  6. ’42-’43 Detroit Red Wings (25-14-11, 61 points (1st in NHL), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.75 SRS)
  7. ’53-’54 Detroit Red Wings (37-19-14, 88 points (1st in NHL), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.70 SRS)
  8. ’96-’97 Detroit Red Wings (38-26-18, 94 points (2nd in Central), STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS, 0.68 SRS)

The ’07-’08 Detroit Red Wings have been the third seed in both of the Ultimate NHL Playoffs so far. In the inaugural tournament, the ’07-’08 Red Wings got eliminated early, the Third Round, but in the Second Annual UNP, they made a run to the Quarterfinal. However, once there, they were eliminated by the eventual runners up.

Players to Watch:

  • RW – Gordie Howe – Mr. Hockey, duh.
  • C – Steve Yzerman – Only two players have worn the winged-wheel longer and one of them is the guy at the top of this list.
  • C – Pavel Datsyuk – Went with three Red Wing legends of three different eras.

The tournament results will be posted on the next weekday at 1 pm EST!
